Kelly Pulley works from his middle Tennessee home writing and illustrating children's picture books, most recently "Ten Unusual Features of Lulu McDunn" and "The Cycling Wangdoos." He is best known for illustrating dozens of books in the Beginner's Bible series, including "The Beginner's Bible" (over 1.25 million copies sold).

THOUGHTS AND VIEWS OF THIS BOOK:  This is a wonderfully written and illustrated Bible Story book.  I loved the Bible Stories and loved how they were simple where kids could understand it, but yet they were so profound.  Another thing that I loved about this book is that it gave the Bible references where each story could be found in the Bible.

The sing song and rhyming of the stories are really makes things easy to read and understand for the little ones.  This makes a great companion to the children's Read To Me Bible.  I found this to be a great new addition to your home library or a new treasure to be passed down through the new generations.  So, come read and enjoy the stories of the Bible as they are brought alive with words and illustrations too.

“Love & Cupcakes” Kindle Giveaway and Facebook Party from Betsy St.Amant!

All’s Fair in Love and Cupcakes
Kat inspected rows of the same old cupcakes. They seemed to blink back at her, as if they knew she was capable of so much more.
Kat Varland has had enough of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry.
At twenty-six years old, Kat is still living in the shadows of her family in Bayou Bend, Louisiana. Still working shifts at her Aunt Maggie’s bakery. Still wondering what to do with her passion for baking and her business degree. And still single.
But when Lucas Brannen, Kat’s best friend, signs her up for a reality TV bake-off on Cupcake Combat, everything Kat ever wanted is suddenly dangled in front of her: creative license as a baker, recognition as a visionary . . . and a job at a famous bakery in New York.
As the competition heats up, Lucas realizes he might have made a huge mistake. As much as he wants the best for Kat, the only thing he wants for himself—her—is suddenly in danger of slipping away.
The bright lights of reality cooking wars and the chance at a successful career dazzle Kat’s senses and Lucas is faced with a difficult choice: help his friend achieve her dreams . . . or sabotage her chances to keep her in Louisiana.

Betsy St. Amant lives in Louisiana with her young daughter and has a heart for sharing the amazing news of God's grace through her novels. A freelance journalist, Betsy is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers. When she’s not reading, writing, or singing along to a Disney soundtrack with her daughter, Betsy enjoys inspirational speaking and teaching on the craft of writing.

MY THOUGHTS AND VIEWS OF THIS BOOK:  This was an enjoyable chick-lit read.  I really enjoyed the story of Lucas and Kat.  It was both predictable and unpredictable.  I think it was neat how Betsy took you behind the scenes of a "reality" cooking show instead of watching it.  It gets you to thinking what goes on behind the scenes of these "reality" shows and how much work goes into making them.

It was fun, entertaining and serious at the same time.   The relationship between Kat and Lucas was both frustrating and mundane at times.  Kat is torn between her creative side and  having to make the same three flavors of cupcakes in her aunt's Cupcake Shop.  Does she stay in Louisiana or does she have to leave her home, family and friends behind to make the kind of cupcakes she wants to make or be stuck in the same place and making the same thing everyday.   You will have to read the book to find out!

Don't miss Betsy St. Amant's latest fiction release, All's Fair in Love and Cupcakes. A "sweet" tale of two best friends and the choices they make between dreams and a possible "sure thing," St. Amant's novel is sure to satisfy your romantic-fiction craving.

All Right Here by Carre Armstrong Gardner Review

Ivy Darling can’t have children of her own, and her husband Nick’s resentment is forcing them apart. And while Ivy has the support and love of her large, close-knit family, Nick’s family has never welcomed her into the fold.

When the three children next door are abandoned by their mother, Ivy and Nick take them in for the night. One night becomes several, and suddenly Ivy and Nick find themselves foster parents to the only African-American kids in the town of Copper Cove, Maine. As Ivy grows more attached to the children, Nick refuses to accept their eclectic household as a permanent family. Just as Ivy begins to question whether or not she wants to save her emotionally barren marriage, Nick begins to discover how much Ivy and the children mean to him. But is his change of heart too little, too late?

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS BOOK:  This is an excellent read for me.  There is never a dull moment in the book.  The author steps out and touches on infertility, foster parenting and interracial issues too.  Ivy has always felt like an outsider as far as her husband's family is concerned.  They purposefully exclude her from family events and ignore her during family gatherings too.

She is feeling the pressure of struggling with infertility.  An African-American family moves next door and when their mother leaves and does not return the Darlings have no choice, but to take the children in their home.  One night leads to them on a journey of being foster parents to the children.  Ivy's family loves and accepts the children as part of her family, but Nick's family refuses to accept them and makes their prejudices known in uncertain terms.

Will Ivy and Nick be able to save their marriage before it is too late?   Will he accept the truth that he and Ivy may never have children of their own?  Will he accept Ivy and the children as part of his life?  You will have to read the book to find out.

$200 B&B Weekend Getaway Giveaway & 9/9 Facebook Party with Deborah Raney!

Home to Chicory Lane || Book 1, A Chicory Inn Novel Landyn longs for home, but her mother may have other plans. Audrey Whitman’s dreams are coming true. Now that their five kids are grown, she and her husband, Grant, are turning their beloved family home into a cozy bed and breakfast just a mile outside of Langhorne, Missouri. Opening weekend makes Audrey anxious, with family and friends coming from all over to help celebrate the occasion. But when Audrey’s daughter, Landyn, arrives, the U-Haul she’s pulling makes it clear she’s not just here for a few days. Audrey immediately has questions. What happened in New York that sent Landyn running home? Where was Landyn’s husband, Chase? And what else was her daughter not telling her? One thing was for sure, the Chicory Inn was off to a rocky start. Can Audrey still realize her dream and at the same time provide the comfort of home her daughter so desperately needs? Learn more and purchase a copy on Deborah’s website. The first book in Deborah Raney's new Chicory Inn series, Home to Chicory Lane, introduces us to Audrey Whitman, a mother who has launched all her children into life and now looks forward to fulfilling some of her own dreams during her empty-nest years. However, not all of her children are ready to stay out of the nest quite yet.

Deborah Raney’s books have won numerous awards, including the RITA, National Readers Choice Award, HOLT Medallion, and the Carol Award, and have twice been Christy Award finalists. She and her husband, Ken, recently traded small-town life in Kansas—the setting of many of Deborah’s novels—for life in the (relatively) big city of Wichita, where they enjoy gardening, antiquing, movies, and traveling to visit four children and a growing brood of grandchildren who all live much too far away. Visit Deborah on the web at DeborahRaney.com.

MY TAKE ON THIS BOOK:  This was a great read!  I enjoyed this read.  It took you into the everyday lives and the not so perfect lives of the Whitman family.   Audrey has finally realized her dream of opening an inn.  This is going to be a perfect weekend for the Grand Opening.  She has planned everything to perfection until an unexpected guest arrives in driveway pulling a u-haul.  Will this weekend go as planned or end in totally disaster?  Who is the guest that shows up unexpectedly?  How long will they stay?  You will have to read the story to find out the answers to the questions.

The only thing is that I found myself asking about this book is when and where have I read this story before.  I was thinking that this book was written under a different title by the same author.  It was predictable in some parts, but never a dull moment in the book.   Just raised a lot of questions that I had this book somewhere along my journey.  I can't wait to read more books by Deborah Raney.
